Susan Butler

Susan Butler is a business journalist and publisher, entertainment and tech attorney and published author. Through Butler Business & Media LLC, she writes and publishes Music Confidential.

After practicing law for 21 years representing clients in music, film, TV and tech fields internationally, Susan began reporting full-time in 2004 for Billboard. In 2008, her company launched Music Confidential, a weekly paid-subscription international news and business analysis report. Today it counts thousands of executive subscribers in 49 countries with record companies, publishers, collecting societies, digital services, law and investment firms, trade groups and governments. Her work focuses on business and pricing models, licensing issues, government activities and legal issues.
