Guy Shelmerdine
Guy Shelmerdine is an highly acclaimed director for commercials, music videos, short films, and groundbreaking virtual reality content. Guy joined Smuggler in 2002 after winning Best New Director at Cannes, and was included in the Saatchi New Directors Showcase the same year. He has helmed award-winning spots for clients such as Mini Cooper, Ikea, Virgin Mobile, Coca-Cola, Honda, Skittles, Weetabix, JetBlue, Chevrolet, VW, Audi, and Range Rover.
In 2014 Guy segued into VR, creating the world’s first live-action virtual reality horror film, Catatonic, which premiered at SXSW, and captivated audiences at Cannes, Comic-Con and others. The following year, working with Here Be Dragons, he collaborated with rock icons Muse and Apple Music to create a VR music video for their song “Revolt.” In 2016 he launched a new VR content studio, Dark Corner, and premiered his new VR thriller experience Mule. In the fall/winter of 2017 he will be releasing his latest VR horror experience, Night Night
