Silvia Vergani

As a Director of Design Research at IDEO in Palo Alto, Silvia guides key clients/teams to translate research findings into the design of human-centered products, services, and systems. Applying methods across industries, including health, tech, and transportation, Silvia believes in constantly challenging our assumptions and approaching projects with deep empathy for users. Her passion is leveraging design to impact beliefs and behaviors around stigmatized topics, including mental health, aging, and end of life, and envisioning products/experiences in emerging fields, from the microbiome to VR. Taking an experimental design research approach, Silvia has helped shape IDEO’s method of cross-validating insights between ethnographic and data-driven methods to inform design and business strategies. Recent projects include designing a new venture to shape the future of genetics, creating digital interventions for patients w/ schizophrenia, and envisioning brain-activated homes for veterans.
