Geoff Cross

Geoff leads a team of San Francisco-based data scientists, which take a speculative and entrepreneurial approach to the creation of new ventures and data resources, as well as business development.

Before moving to the US in 2016, Geoff was based in Oxford, where he was a founder of Hivemind, a Winton data science subsidiary that solves challenging data problems by combining human and machine intelligence. Prior to Winton, Geoff worked as a specialist in image processing and machine vision, most recently for special-effects suppliers Vicon and 2d3. Other past employers include Formula 1 team McLaren, the General Electric Research and Development Center and Microsoft Research.

Geoff has a PhD from Oxford University and a MEng from Cambridge University. He also holds a number of patents and his work has been reported in New Scientist, Popular Science, Newsweek and by the BBC.
