Kim Coupounas
Kim Coupounas is a visionary leader and a passionate advocate for responsible business, the outdoors, and public lands. Kim currently serves as a Director of B Lab, a nonprofit organization that certifies “B Corporations” and supports a global movement of people using the power of business as a force for good. From 2014 to 2016, Kim led a collaborative effort to grow and engage the community of B Corps and other responsible businesses in Colorado and to foster a vibrant statewide ecosystem of responsible business practice.
Prior to B Lab, she co-founded and served as CEO of an international outdoor products brand, GoLite, that was sold in 23 countries and beloved by hundreds of thousands of customers around the world. GoLite was also one of the earliest Certified B Corps. She is now a founding investor and board member of My Trail Company, an outdoor brand that brings to market high performance, lightweight outdoor products that are responsibly made and delivered affordably direct to consumers. My Trail raised seed capital through a national equity raise through Wefunder.com and a Colorado Direct Public Offering. It is incorporated as a Colorado Public Benefit Corporation.
Kim is past Chairman of the Board of the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA), the trade association representing the $646 billion+ active outdoor recreation industry, an economic powerhouse in the United States that creates over 6 million jobs. She co-founded and served as founding Chairman of the Outdoor Industry Political Action Committee, a non-partisan PAC focused on supporting candidates for federal and state office. She has also served on the alumni board of Harvard Business School and Princeton Women in Leadership. Kim earned an AB with honors from Princeton and an MBA and MPA from Harvard.
