Ty Shay
Ty Shay is senior vice president and CMO for Symantec’s Consumer Business Unit, which includes LifeLock and Norton. In this role, Shay leads the brand vision, strategy and all aspects of customer acquisition for both brands and the consumer business unit. He previously served as CMO, LifeLock, which was acquired by Symantec in February 2017.
Prior to joining LifeLock, Shay served as chief marketing officer and head of customer experience for SquareTrade, a Bain Capital Portfolio Company. For this leading mobile and consumer electronics protection plans company, Shay owned the end-to-end customer experience and led a team of more than 500 people worldwide, including all of marketing, operations and award-winning customer service.
Prior to SquareTrade, Shay was the founder and CEO of FanIQ, a sports social games site that he grew to over 12 million registered users. Previously, Shay was CMO of Hotwire, which he joined prior to launch and grew into a top-five travel site before selling it to IAC (NASDAQ:IACI). Before Hotwire, Shay was a key part of the team that launched Esurance, which was subsequently acquired by Allstate (NYSE:ALL). He started his career in brand management at Clorox and Procter & Gamble.
Shay holds an M.B.A. from the Stanford School of Business and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he graduated with highest honors.
