Mark Morsch leads a team of technology and subject matter experts at Optum360 in the continuing advancement of the company's industry-leading natural language processing (NLP) technology. He is the co-inventor of an NLP engine with five patents on NLP technology used in computer-assisted coding (CAC), auditing, and clinical documentation improvement (CDI). Morsch is an author and speaker on the effective use of NLP in healthcare and has over 20 years of experience developing NLP and AI software products.
Prior to joining Optum360, Morsch led R&D and software engineering for A-Life Medical, a pioneer in the development of NLP solutions for the healthcare market that was acquired by Optum in 2010.
Morsch earned Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in electrical engineering from Clarkson University.
