Kate Hennessy

Kate Hennessy is a Walkley Award-winning freelance arts journalist & music critic. Her writing appears regularly in Noisey/Vice, major Australian magazines and newspapers, The Wire (UK), The Quietus (UK) and more. Her flagship column for Guardian Australia, Music You Missed, raises the profile of under-the-radar acts.

Kate guests on ABC TV, panels, writers’ festivals and radio. She’s an Australian Music Prize judge and a National Live Music Awards board member. Travel journalism has taken her to Africa, Peru, Papua New Guinea, New York, Taiwan, the Solomon Islands, Russia and remote Indigenous communities.
