Breon Wells

Breon is the CEO & Founder of The Daniel Initiative, a government relations and strategic communications consulting firm that helps influencers engage in social justice innovation. Through TDI, Breon has worked on local, State, Congressional, and Presidential campaigns, has assisted non-profit organizations in developing public policy advocacy programs, and serves as a policy advisor to influencers, non-profit organizations and faith leaders. Policy areas of expertise include: Criminal Justice Reform, Voting Rights, Foreign Relations, Cyber Security, and National Security. Breon currently serves as the Vice President of Public Policy at Faith Link Inc., a National organization that equips faith communities to increase civic engagement and public policy education. In this capacity, he oversees FLI's policy research and development. Other clients include IMPACT, Atlas Techknowledgy, and Compass Techknowledgy. Previously Breon served as a Congressional Aide on Capitol Hill working for Congressman Albert Wynn, Senator Bill Nelson, and the Senate Armed Services Committee. Additionally, he was a consultant to Van Jones’ organization, Dream Corps. These experiences led to key relationships with social justice advocacy groups, as well as membership on numerous National Working Groups. These coalitions include: Robert F. Kennedy Center Young Leaders Board of Directors; ACLU-Brennan Center Working Group; The Open Society Foundation’s Justice Roundtable; and ReThink Justice DC. TDI’s current clientele includes: The Transformative Justice Coalition, Barbara Arnwine (Civil Rights Attorney), Big K.R.I.T (Hip-Hop Artist), and Faith Link Inc.
Breon frequently speaks at national conferences on the topics of public policy, criminal justice reform, race relations, faith and politics, and activism. He sees the merging of activism and public policy engagement as his way of advocating for marginalized communities.
