Bernhard Gold
Dr. Bernhard Gold is Partner and Managing Director at Iris Capital where he’s responsible for U.S. and international investments from offices in San Francisco. Before joining, Bernhard spent nearly a decade in a variety of investment roles, including Managing Partner, both in the U.S. and Germany at T-Venture, the Corporate Venture Capital arm of Deutsche Telekom. While at T-Venture, he was responsible for their investments in Boxfish, Cooliris (acq. by Yahoo), mediapeers (acq. by Deluxe), Mojio, Moviepilot (acq. by Webedia), Nexmo (acq. by Vonage), Ruckus Wireless (IPO in NYSE) and Sevenload (acq. by Burda). Bernhard also worked as a senior marketing manager at T-Online and was the Co-Founder and CEO of CyberProfit AG, a Munich-based startup company. Bernhard holds a Diploma in Business Administration and a Masters in Business Research from the Munich School of Management and the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He was recently granted a Ph.D. from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, for research on innovation management, Venture Capital and startup ecosystems. Bernhard published a book in 2017 entitled, “Silicon Valley Start‐ups and Corporate Innovation: Approaches to Resolve the Innovator’s Dilemma.”
