Ms. Russell Arons is an accomplished executive with a diverse background of business and marketing experience across video games, entertainment, toys and technology. As the new head of Machinima, the premiere digital video programmer of gamer and fandom-focused content, she oversees initiatives for content production, platform strategy & distribution, marketing, media sales, business intelligence and the Machinima talent network of over 9,000 social video channels.
Most recently, Russell was Senior Vice President of Marketing for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment where she led global marketing, PR and consumer research for some of the industry’s largest video game franchises, including Batman Arkham, LEGO, DC Entertainment, Mortal Kombat, The Lord of the Rings and others.
Previously, she served as Vice President of Marketing at Electronic Arts where she managed The Sims franchise and the “Play” Label portfolio of games. Prior to EA, Russell was the Vice President and General Manager of the Barbie franchise for Mattel where she masterminded the “Barbie & Ken Break-Up”. In addition, she led the marketing department for InfoSpace, a leading provider of online search and monetization solutions.
Russell is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Lake Forest College in Illinois with degrees in Business and Philosophy and was nominated to Phi Beta Kappa, academic honorary society.
