Jorge A Ortiz
Mr. Ortiz has 20 years of experience in the financial sector, specializing in Private Banking, Asset management and Private equity. Prior to his current responsibilities in Carpo Capital LLC, he served as Vice President at Citi Private Bank New York and as Director of the Private Bank at UBS in New York for Mexico. Since 2009 He is Managing Partner of Carpo Capital LLC, a venture capital Fund in Mexico. He serves as a Mentor in several incubators such as Wayra, StartUp Mexico, MassChallenge, Village Capital & Reto Zapopan.
He is the main advisor to the Federal Government and other agencies in FinTech (Financial Technologies) issues.
He founded FinTech Mexico in 2015, that is actually the largest FinTech Hub in Latinamerica.
He earned a B.S. in accounting and Finance from UDLA-P, an MBA from IPADE, a Master in Politics and public Administration from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Master in Philosophy from Universidad Iberoamericana and a Master in Innovation and New Business Development from Tec de Monterrey. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Philosophy at Universidad Iberoamericana.
