Julia Rose West

Julia is a futurist, product designer, and leader at Ancestry. She believes the future cannot be predicted but it can be designed. Julia is also a Futurist for Arizona State University working with the Army Cyber Institute at West Point to envision and discover cyber security threats. She is co-author of What the Foresight, a personal futures workbook created with Alida Draudt. Other futures work has spanned subjects such as – Silicon Valley's Fetishization of Data, The Uberization of American Public Housing 2025, which received a recognition award by the Association of Professional Futurists, The Future of Search, The Future of B2C DNA, and The New Dogs of War: The Future of Weaponized AI. Julia enjoys teaching foresight to others who are brave enough to challenge their assumptions about the future and consider other possibilities.
