Phil McKinney
As president and CEO of CableLabs, the global cable industry’s non-profit R&D lab, Phil leads tech and specification development to securely deliver high speed data, video, voice and next-generation services. Under his leadership, CableLabs has invented and launched solutions that enable multi-gigabit networks globally.
Prior to CableLabs, Phil was VP and CTO for HP’s Personal Systems Group, where he led long-term strategic planning and R&D for the company’s personal computer and mobile products. He also spearheaded HP’s Innovation Program Office, which identified and launched new technologies, products and services that would become future growth engines. Its success is now widely shared in case studies at Stanford University and Harvard Business School.
Phil is on the advisory board for Hacking Autism, and oversees his family venture capital fund, the Techtrend Group, that invests in for-profit entrepreneurs and start-ups to create economic growth in underserved communities.
