It takes a massive amount of resources to grow food, and 40% of what we produce ends up in a landfill.
Industrial/Organic is addressing this waste problem while recovering the natural resources present in the food we throw away. Our proprietary process rapidly stabilizes food waste, bypassing putrefaction to avoid odor and methane generation, enabling the material to be separated into its base components which are used to make new products. Through a distributed network of biorefineries, a modular design enables us to pop-up in existing spaces with fewer permitting needs than other waste solutions.
A pilot facility is opening in Newark this Spring to handle 24,000 lbs per day of food waste. Following this launch we’ll be bringing two products to market: 1) a multi-purpose cleaner and disinfectant comparable to Lysol made from organic chemicals and water 100% derived from food waste, and 2) a plant biostimulant that has shown in trials to double crop growth with better developed roots and leaves.
