Scientist
NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory

Dr. Tiffany Kataria is an exoplanetary scientist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. She earned her Ph.D. in Planetary Sciences from the University of Arizona in 2014, where she investigated the atmospheric processes on extrasolar giant planets, and its ties to observations with the Hubble and Spitzer Space Telescopes. She is an expert in computational modeling, and utilizes weather models that we use to predict weather on Earth and other solar system planets to probe climates on these exotic planets. Currently, she is part of the Science and Technology Definition Team for the Origins Space Telescope, one of the large mission concepts studied by NASA for the Astrophysics 2020 Decadal Survey that aim to search for life on distant, rocky worlds. Outside of her scientific research, Tiffany enjoys singing and exploring all that the LA food scene has to offer.
