Karen Dufilho
As Executive Producer at Google Spotlight Stories, Karen Dufilho (@houseodkdr) was instrumental in introducing immersive, narrative content at Google. A key contributor to the creation of the group and its mandate, Karen is responsible for engaging and shepherding talent and content from development through production and multi-platform launch, resulting in a body of original, award- winning, creator-driven stories that explore new questions of story-teller and audience. Most recently, Karen was EP on the Emmy Award-winning and Academy nominated short film Pearl, directed by Patrick Osborne. Other recents include Emmy nominated couch gag for The Simpsons, Cannes Lion awarded Gorillaz Saturn Bars (Spirit House) directed by Jamie Hewlett, and Help, directed by Justin Lin, winner of two Cannes Gold Lions for innovations in story. The Spotlight platform was recently recognized with an Ub Iwerks award from ASIFA and a Peabody-Facebook Futures of Media Award in 2017. Karen has been featured in Forbes, Fast Company, Variety and Hollywood Reporter. Cultivating a network of renowned animation and story talent, Karen founded House of K where she garners the best of the industry’s unique and premier voices for mobile, VR, studios and film. Clients include: Google, Paramount, Sony, On Entertainment, Motorola, Rovio, and Locksmith Animation. Karen is the producer of Academy & Annie Award-winning short films For the Birds and Geri’s Game for Pixar, where she helmed the Shorts Division overseeing its original shorts slate as well as A Bugs Life, Toy Story 2 and Monsters Inc. franchise production efforts.
