Erik Stein
Erik brings his specialized public relations knowledge and extensive experience, covering the live events, entertainment industry and a wide variety of music genres, to Scoop Marketing.
Erik's practice at Scoop covers concert events, day-to-day publicity, as well as alternative, indie, rock, country, hip-hop and pop album releases. Artists represented (or previously handled) in those areas include blink-182, Bon Jovi, Dead & Company, KISS, Steely Dan, Gwen Stefani, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and Weezer, just to name a few. Erik also oversees press efforts for festivals, venues, entertainment events and businesses, such as Caroline Records, the "Fabulous" Forum, Fathom Events, ICM, and more. Past clients in those areas also include the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Hangout Music Fest, Dangerbird Records, and more.
Previously, Erik was employed for more than a decade by the Universal Music Group, starting in 1995 as Manager of Publicity for MCA Records and rising to Senior Director of Publicity at Geffen Records. At UMG, he represented a wealth of successful acts, including blink-182, DJ Shadow, Live, New Found Glory, Papa Roach, Rise Against, Rob Zombie, She Wants Revenge, Sublime, Tommy Lee, etc. Erik is also credited in being integral in the company's establishment of a joint-venture with successful indie label Drive-Thru Records.
