Valerie Pensa
Vice President of marketing at RCA Records, Pensa is a Billboard Top 40 Under 40 Power Player and a three-time Clio Award winner for her marketing campaign for Sia’s “Chandelier”.
While still attending Quinnipiac University in New Haven, CT, Pensa juggled an internship with RCA Music Group and a job at WKCI-FM New Haven – and still found time to attend classes. The resume building and networking paid off with a post-graduate job as an assistant in J Records A&R/Marketing department. The job working under Clive Davis payed off and parlayed into a role as the sole marketing director at then A&M/Octone Records where Pensa worked with Maroon 5 on Grammy Winning, Multi-platinum campaigns, earning her a slot on the Billboard Top 30 Under 30 Power Players in Music. Recognizing the change in the music forecast, Pensa was eager to develop more experience in the digital landscape and returned to RCA Records to work in their digital marketing department. There Pensa worked with artists such as P!nk, Britney Spears, Pitbull and more. Pensa eventually transitioned back into a traditional marketing role which was met with a promotion at the company to Vice President of marketing. During her tenure as a product manager at RCA, Pensa has lead campaigns for Sia’s albums 1,000 Forms of Fear and This is Acting, both earning multi-Platinum sales certifications, amongst other successful campaigns for Britney Spears, Tinashe, Cam, Grace, Kygo, Snakehips and more.
