Nikita Scott

Chair
Surfrider NYC

Leaving Scotland to chase waves around the world, Nikita settled on New York City as her new home break. Having always believed that we should protect what we love, it was only a matter of time before she found her way to the Surfrider Foundation, an environmental non-profit that advocates for the protection and enjoyment of our ocean, waves and beaches.

In 2016, Nikita was elected Chair of the NYC Chapter, a 100% volunteer run grassroots movement. Prior to that she lead Surfrider in a victorious campaign to defeat Port Ambrose, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) port proposed for off the coast of NY. Nikita is a recipient of the 2015 Wavemaker Award in Environmental Leadership and her activism efforts have been highlighted by VICE and the Soho House Impact Series. She has also been featured in "Whalebone" and profiled for the "Activist Spotlight" in the nationally distributed publication "The Drop".

Professionally, Nikita manages Corporate Accounts for Catchafire, a social enterprise bringing skills based volunteering to the forefront.
