Richard Rabbat
Richard Rabbat is the CEO and founder of Gfycat, the world's largest user-generated GIF hosting platform. At Gfycat, Richard drives the vision and mission of the company, which has seen explosive growth over the past 2 years. Gfycat is a top 70 US site, top 250 worldwide (according to Alexa).
Previously, Richard was Vice President of Advertising and Platform at Tango. He oversaw Tango’s ad monetization strategy and the rollout of its advertising products. Under his leadership, Tango's flagship game Road Riot achieved 10 million downloads and a 4.5 star rating.
Prior to Tango, Richard was General Manager at Zynga, in charge of building Tango’s games SDKs across mobile and web. While at Zynga, Richard improved monetization of Zynga’s flagship game CityVille by 17%.
Prior to Zynga, Richard was a Product Manager at Google, and drove a company-wide initiative "Make the Web Faster", across search and ad properties driving incremental revenue for the AdSense and DoubleClick properties. Richard started his career in R&D at Fujitsu.
Richard holds a Ph.D. and an S.M. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a B.E. and M.E. in Computer and Communications Engineering from the American University of Beirut. He is also Vice-Chair, USA of the MIT Enterprise Forum for the Pan-Arab Region and is an advisor to numerous companies.
