Don Cameron
Since 1981, Don has been the vice president and general manager of Terranova Ranch, Inc. located 25 miles southwest of Fresno in Helm, California. Terranova farms 25 crops on approximately 6,000 acres, in addition to 1,500 acres that are custom-farmed for other clients. The farm grows a mix of conventional, organic and biotech field crops, including conventional and organic processing tomatoes, peppers, onions, seed product and corn, as well as perennial crops such as walnuts, wine grapes, almonds, pistachios and olives for oil. In 2011, Don was appointed to the California Department of Food and Agriculture’s Environmental Farming Act Science Advisory Panel and is currently serving as chairman. In 2012, he served on the USDA’s Advisory Committee on Biotechnology and 21st Century Agriculture. Don was appointed by the Governor, February 1, 2018, President of the California State Board of Food and Agriculture and is chairman for both the California Cotton Alliance and the McMullin Area Groundwater Sustainability Agency.
