Rosanne is owner of Rust Nutrition Services. She began freelance writing in 1994, and created her virtual nutrition practice in 2000. She brings 30 years of experience to what she does, from various clinical and community nutrition settings. Rosanne has a Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a Master’s of Science degree in nutrition from the University of Pittsburgh. As a nutrition communications consultant, Rosanne translates nutrition data into well-reasoned dietary advice so people can enjoy eating for good health. Rosanne is passionate about fighting pseudoscience and aims to help consumers make sense of science by creating reasonable messages that can help maintain a healthy lifestyle. Her work includes developing social media strategies, freelance writing, and blogging at chewthefacts.com. She is co-author of several books in the For Dummies® series including DASH Diet For Dummies® and the Glycemic Index Cookbook for Dummies®. She also speaks on topics that cover cardiovascular health, weight management, feeding children, and sugar science, and has taught nutrition courses for Penn State’s online WorldCampus. She’s a wife and mother of three sons, and practices what she preaches - enjoying all types of food and beverage in balance with enjoyable physical activities such as walking, jogging, weight-lifting, kayaking, boating, paddle-boarding, swimming, skiing and hiking.
