Belinda Johnson
Belinda Johnson is the Chief Operating Officer at Airbnb. She develops and leads the programs and processes that will distinguish Airbnb as a 21st Century Company and deliver uniquely against our mission.
Belinda oversees three core areas of the business: our operating systems, the teams that enable Airbnb to function including Trust, Customer Experience and Payments, and the company’s legal, policy and communications teams.
Most recently, Belinda was the Chief Business Affairs and Legal Officer and was responsible for business engagement and operational strategies with respect to public policy, community mobilization, legal, communications, compliance, social impact and employee experience teams.
Belinda joined Airbnb as General Counsel in 2011, and has been a key leader in Airbnb’s growth from a small start-up to a global hospitality brand. For over two decades, Belinda has practiced law and partnered on business affairs in the technology industry.
Prior to joining Airbnb, she was Deputy General Counsel at Yahoo and during the first wave of the internet, she served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary to Broadcast.com, one of the first companies to stream media programming over the Web. Belinda serves on the Board of Directors of PayPal. She has been named one of Forbes World’s Most Powerful Women in Tech and Fast Company Magazine’s Most Creative People in Business. She holds a BA and JD from the University of Texas.
