Matt Danzico

Matt Danzico is a journalist, filmmaker and tinkerer. Danzico is the head of NBC Left Field, a video journalism unit devoted to the hidden faces and far out stories behind the news. Launched in the summer of 2017, the team of investigative journalists, producers and shooters crafts cinematic and creative video offerings on topics ranging rom Ukrainian military youth camps to debates over the Moon Treaty.

Prior to joining NBC, Danzico spent years cutting his teeth at the BBC, heading up a "video innovation unit" that prototyped and experimented with new digital formats for the company. He’s also the creator of the BBC’s first traveling bureau, a former reporter for a Japanese newspaper, a past producer at Discovery Channel and, last but not least, a expert house painter. In his free time, he can be found sitting on his surfboard somewhere in the Atlantic.
