Palika Makam
Palika Makam is a media activist and the US Program Coordinator for WITNESS. She trains and supports activists and civic witnesses to use video to document human rights violations involving police and immigration and customs enforcement, and to protect the rights of LGBTQ, minority, indigenous and vulnerable communities around the country. Palika is also the cofounder of The Babel Project, a youth media nonprofit teaching storytelling and documentary film as advocacy tools. She has trained activists in New York, Chicago, Ferguson, Cape Town and The West Bank in media advocacy.
