Jitendra Jain
Jitendra Jain (JJ) serves as a Director for Strategic Licensing and Outreach with the Office of Technology Commercialization, at the University of Texas at Austin. In this role, he leads a team to monetize UT's intellectual property, attract research funding, and create outreach programs. He specializes in commercializing software and copyrights, and is a resident expert on open source. He is very proficient in assessing early stage technologies, guiding investments in IP, developing commercialization models, negotiating licensing agreements, and start up formation. JJ has generated over $25m in licensing revenues, executed over 400 licensing deals, and helped create over 20 start ups.
Mr Jain has over 26 years of experience with the hitech industry, has been an entrepreneur, and has been in academic tech transfer for the last 12 years. He is a board member of the Longhorn Startup Competition and an academic advisor at Graphic Era University. He is also an active international speaker, routinely mentors at Austin incubators, and is an avid traveler.
