Aileen Owens

Aileen Owens is the Director of Technology and Innovation for South Fayette Township School District. She has focused on building a vertically aligned and articulated computational thinking initiative K-12. Aileen and her team have systematically created robust pathways and ecologies for computer science and engineering beginning in the elementary grades by embedding computational thinking as the new literacy. Challenged and supported by the Grable Foundation to make innovation happen, and to support equity in education in Southwestern Pennsylvania, Aileen directs the STEAM Innovation Summer Institute providing outreach in computational thinking and STEAM learning. Aileen is the recipient of the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) Frank Withrow Outstanding CTO Award 2016; PAECT Chief Technology Officer of the Year 2015; Digital Innovation in Learning, Administrator Trailblazer Award and the Digital Innovation in Learning, Administrators Winners Choice Award 2014.
