Shobhana Gupta
Shobhana Gupta, MD, PhD, is an AAAS S&T Policy Fellow at NASA’s Health and Air Quality Applied Sciences Program, where she uses her biomedical training in the management of the program’s research portfolio. Shobhana is also the Project Manager for NASA’s International Space Apps Challenge, the world’s largest hackathon that occurs simultaneously in cities around the world. As a passionate supporter of open innovation and citizen science, Shobhana proudly led Space Apps’s 6th annual event in 2017 to be the largest Space Apps to date with over 25,000 participants from 69 countries. Prior to joining NASA, Shobhana completed her medical and graduate training at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, and trained as a postdoctoral fellow at Yale University School of Medicine in the Department of Neurology.
