Sadie Hernandez
Sadie Hernandez is a 22 year old Chicana from Brownsville, Texas. She was featured in TeenVogue's 21 Under 21, recognized as one of 2017's 40 Women to Watch, and received a PPFA Maggie Award for Media Excellence for her work in Texas. Born and raised along the Texas-Mexico border, Sadie's work centers around uplifting Mexican American and Latinx issues in the media and social justice spaces to show people the intersections of race, age, and class in reproductive rights. Working primarily with young people, Sadie has been utilizing organizing to rally Mexican and Mexican Americans in her community. As Planned Parenthood Texas Votes' organizer, she is not only resisting against Texas' anti-abortion and anti-Planned Parenthood legislation, but is also leading her affiliate's work against SB4, Texas' racial profiling "show me your papers law." Sadie has been working with state and national affiliates to become more inclusive of the immigrant and Mexican American community.
