Doug Rupert
Doug Rupert, MPH, is a health communication scientist in RTI International’s Center for Communication Science. Doug has a dual background in public health and marketing/advertising, and he specializes in formative and experimental research in a variety of areas, including informed and shared decision making, mobile health, and patient-provider communication. Doug has extensive experience in mixed-methods research, combining quantitative and qualitative data to explore individuals’ information needs, behavior, and decision-making. He has led numerous studies for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and he has published in multiple peer-reviewed journals, such as Social Science and Medicine, the Journal of Medical Internet Research, and the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.
