Lu was board president of the Metropolitan Business Association, the LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce, in Orlando 2016 and 2017.
This is a volunteer position and occupied most of her time after the Pulse tragedy June 12, 2016.
Together with other volunteer LGBTQ community leaders from Orlando, Lu is speaking on a panel about the aftermath of the shooting, and how community organizations came together to form an alliance.
The One Orlando Alliance, www.oneorlandoalliance.org, now is an umbrella organization for Orlandos nonprofits that serve the LGBTQ and allied communities.
In her day job, Lu is an educator and business owner in alternative healthcare, expert on corrective bodywork, manual therapies, chronic pain (and how to treat the brain's involvement).
In Germany, Lu holds a license as a naturopathic physician. Self-description is "a lapsed naturopath".
Currently working on talks and courses about:
--the skeptic's approach to alternative therapies,
--affordable science based healthcare/selfcare (especially regarding the intestinal microbiome, autoimmune conditions, unspecific chronic pain conditions)
--utilizing the whole framework of a medical practice to effectively treat chronic pain in the musculoskeletal system,
--training bodyworkers, physical therapists, personal trainers, occupational therapists, nurses and other professions in how to help chronic pain patients start exercising without triggering the pain over and over again.
