Armin Steuernagel

Managing Partner
Purpose Ventures eG

Armin Steuernagel is a serial entrepreneur and co-founder of several businesses—among others Purpose Foundation and the investment fund Purpose Ventures. He founded his first business at the age of 16—a mail order company for sustainable toys that is active in Germany. Another company tries to get children excited about good food and is active in over 20 countries (www.mogli.de). Currently he helps mission-oriented companies become self-owned with alternative ownership structures. These structures help them to stay independent and mission-driven for the long term and protect against becoming a speculative commodity. He is managing partner at Purpose Ventures, a evergreen investment fund that focused on helping companies to grow without selling themselves. Steuernagel studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Witten/Herdecke and Oxford, and did his graduate studies at Columbia University. He is member of the young think tank of the Club of Rome, ThinkTank 30.
