Kristen Parisi
Kristen is a writer and public relations professional in New York City. Two days after Christmas in 1990, Kristen was paralyzed in a head-on motor vehicle accident, and has been in a wheelchair ever since. Over the last twenty-six years, she has gone on to defy most statistics of spinal cord injury patients - gaining a college degree, developing a corporate career, and working in one of the most least wheelchair accessible cities in the country. Additionally, she has traveled solo internationally, and lived in Los Angeles, Boston, and San Diego, continuously trying to help redefine what it means to be perceived as "disabled." She has volunteered her expertise to non-profit disability organizations, acted as a mentor to other people with spinal cord injuries, and has spoken to schools and corporations on diversity and overcoming adversity. Kristen is excited to continue trying to make an impact on those around her.
