Vinny Lingham

Vinny Lingham is a South African Internet entrepreneur who is the co-founder & CEO of Civic - an identity protection and management startup.

He is one of the most recognizable figures in the cryptocurrency world, having started Gyft in 2012, which became the leading consumer platform accepting bitcoin before selling it to First Data in 2014. After that, he started his next company, Civic, a blockchain based identity platform that recently completed a $33 million token sale after raising $5.75 million in venture capital. Civic’s goal is to bring mobile & digital democracy to the world by utilizing the blockchain to give everyone a digital identity.

Prior to Civic and Gyft, Vinny founded a number of other companies, including Click2Customers, Yola, and Newtown Partners, which have collectively raised over $100 million in funding over the past decade.
