Andy Barr

Andy Barr is a Washington-based speechwriter with a decade of experience helping some of the nation’s most influential power players give voice to their ideas. His clients have included V.P. Joe Biden, U.S. Senators, candidates and campaigns across the country, CEOs of major corporations, executives at advocacy and trade organizations, nationally-recognized thought leaders, best-selling authors, and private citizens.

Andy served as chief speechwriter for Senator Chris Dodd before launching a freelance speechwriting practice where he works with a wide variety of clients on full-length manuscripts, keynote speeches, commencement addresses, op-eds, journal articles, fundraising materials, internal communications, and even the occasional roast.

He was a member of the speechwriting team at the Democratic National Convention in both 2012 and 2016, and has collaborated with Sen. Al Franken on three New York Times #1 best-selling books, including 2017's Al Franken, Giant of the Senate.
