Anant Patel, MD

Anant I. Patel, MD, FAANS, grew up in London, England and attended The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He graduated from Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University in 1989 and completed his Neurosurgery Residency at Ohio State University. Dr. Patel has been practicing Neurosurgery in Austin since 1998 and is one of the only neurosurgeons in Austin that currently performs the frameless Deep Brain Stimulator for people with movement disorders such as Parkinson’s. Dr. Patel has been actively involved in neuroscience research and is the recipient of grants from the National Institute of Health and the General Electric Research Foundation. He continues to publish his research works in medical journals and has been the recipient of numerous Patient's Choice Awards; as well as the Compassionate Doctor Recognition Award for years. Dr. Patel is a practicing neurosurgeon at St. David's North Austin Medical Center.
