Kelly Bourdet is Editor-in-Chief of Gizmodo, one of the largest science and tech sites in the U.S. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Emory University, she worked in science- and tech-focused editorial roles across many outlets. She was the author of a long-running column on Motherboard, Vice’s science and tech site, on the future of intimacy and relationships. The health vertical she founded was a finalist for Digiday's "Best New Vertical of 2014" award, and an editorial series she edited won the "Publisher of the Year" award. She was the founding editor of both Refinery29’s health+science vertical and tech vertical, where she focused on combatting sensationalized health reporting and bringing scientifically accurate reporting to a mostly female audience. She was the Editorial Director of Vocativ, where she focused on cybersecurity, science, and the culture of technology.
