Malini Ram Moraghan
Malini is a Managing Principal with DAISA Enterprises, a strategy and impact advisory firm that serves as the Kresge Foundation’s National Program Office for the Fresh, Local and Equitable initiative. Malini integrates margin and mission in the food & agriculture investment space and leads the firm’s work managing the Kresge Foundation’s FreshLo initiative. After more than a decade in the private sector as a JPMorgan investment banker and a McKinsey consultant, Malini became Managing Director of Impact Investments at Wholesome Wave where her team sourced and structured flexible investments into food & agricultural enterprises. Her track record includes the successful exit and repayment of an experimental PRI that produced critical insights into food infrastructure investing and resulted in strategies now used across the field. She currently advises private funds, agencies and national foundations on investment diligence, impact investment structures, and food & agriculture capital deployment.
Malini has been nationally recognized for her work, recently publishing articles in the Federal Reserve-USDA book, Harvesting Opportunity. Malini has spoken at White House Rural Council Summits, AgOutlook, SSAWG, OFN, SAFSF and SARL Conferences. Malini serves on the Joint Federal Reserve-USDA Publication Advisory Committee and on the Advisory Board of the Food Chain Workers Alliance.
Malini has an MBA from University of Chicago's Booth School of Business and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Cooper Union in New York. She has also passed the CFA Level I exam and is now working on Level II. Malini is currently based in Chicago.
