Alejandro González
Alejandro González leads development and innovation efforts at 14ymedio, Cuba’s first independent digital news platform. In this capacity, he is responsible for expanding partnerships, growing audiences and creating revenue streams for the news platform. Alejandro works with a dynamic team willing to take on the great challenge of opening a greater space for independent media to thrive in Cuba.
Prior to his current role, Alejandro was a senior analyst at start-up advisory firm leading U.S. companies and institutions seeking to expand their business into Latin America.
Alejandro also served as the 2016-2017 Residential fellow at the Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute at the University of Missouri’s journalism school, where he developed a low-bandwidth mobile application to allow news outlets to share and distribute news offline.
Alejandro is graduate of Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service. He resides in Miami, FL.
