Madeline Ashby

Madeline Ashby is a science fiction writer, futurist, and speaker living in Toronto. Her most recent novel, COMPANY TOWN (Tor) was a finalist in the 2017 CBC Books Canada Reads competition and won the Copper Cylinder Award. She is the author of the Machine Dynasty series. She has developed science fiction prototypes for Intel Labs, the Institute for the Future, SciFutures, Nesta, Data & Society, the Atlantic Council, and others. She has facilitated foresight workshops for Engineers Without Borders Canada, Strategic Innovation Lab, InterAccess Studios, and others. She also teaches design futures and design fiction at OCAD University, where she earned a M.Des. in Strategic Foresight and Innovation. Through her work at Changeist, she is also a guest lecturer at the Dubai Future Academy.
