Amber Payne is the Executive Producer of Teen Vogue and Them., overseeing enterprise video for Conde Nast’s next-generation digital magazines.

Amber was the founding Managing Editor of NBCBLK, a section of NBCNews.com dedicated to telling stories for and about the black community. The vertical launched in January of 2015 with a mission to elevate the conversation around black identity, social issues, and culture. It quickly grew to become an award-winning publication with a strong editorial presence at events ranging from Essence Festival to SXSW Interactive.

Before taking on this role, Amber was an award-winning producer at NBC Nightly News where she produced breaking news and feature stories. Amber has covered stories throughout the U.S. and the UK, Ecuador and parts of West Africa and South Africa. She was a Nightly News field producer for Special Reports including the 70th Anniversary of D-Day in Normandy, the funeral of Nelson Mandela in South Africa, and she covered the Joplin, Missouri tornado, The Royal Wedding, the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, Hurricane Irene and Hurricane Katrina recovery.

Awards include: 2016 Paul Tobenkin Award Finalist, 2011 & 2016 NABJ Salute to Excellence Awards; 2008 National Emmy Award; 2011 Sigma Delta Chi Award.

Amber is a graduate of the University of Virginia where she studied Studio Art and Media Studies.
