Karen Horgan
Karen Horgan’s passion for health and belief in evidence-based approaches led her to co-found VAL Health, the leading health behavioral economics firm. As the president of VAL Health, she has spearheaded the development of hundreds of behavior change programs that enable clients to overcome healthcare’s biggest challenges.
Karen’s previous experience includes increasing medication adherence with the introduction of generics, improving the nutritional value of a global snack food company’s product portfolio, and changing lab researcher behavior for one of the largest pharmaceutical companies. Prior to starting VAL health, Karen was the Chief Marketing Officer at Keystone Strategy and a consultant with Bain and Company in Boston and Hong Kong.
Karen holds an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School, a B.A. with honors from the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.S. with honors from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
