Beyond Design Process: Deciphering the Intangibles

Mar 9, 2018

3:30pm – 4:30pm CT

Political instability, racial inequality, and environmental destruction are today’s self-evident truths. At the same time, our tools for design and collaboration have never been so accessible. Whether for the creation of movements, services, or products, this collision of systems challenges with a vast toolset for creation is our great opportunity as designers.

How do we empower ourselves to frame and tackle these projects? What are the intangible elements driving the future of design? How do we navigate this landscape of empathy and responsibility?

Carissa Carter is Director of Teaching + Learning at the Stanford d.school, where design pedagogy continues to evolve to prepare today’s students to be tomorrow’s citizens and creators. Join Carissa as she discusses these questions and reveals learnings applicable to designers of any age wanting to further their impact.
