On average, 2 million children are sent to juvenile detention centers each year. Daily, there are about 10,000 minors in adult jails and prisons. Damien Duncan began a three-year sentence in an adult prison at the age of 16, and started writing music while in solitary confinement. He’ll be joined by social justice advocates, artists, and filmmakers for a discussion on the power of art in trauma recovery, and in shifting cultural perceptions about juvenile incarceration.
