Choosing Film Lenses for Emotion - Matty Libatique

Mar 10, 2018

3:30pm – 5:30pm CT

This session requires RSVP, and access will only be available to badge types listed under "Primary Access."

During this workshop, we will pose lens questions to Matthew "Matty" Libatique, who was the cinematographer of "Mother!", "Iron Man 1 & 2" and many other films.
Cinematographers have been using various focal lengths of lenses in creative ways for over a century in order to evoke emotion. Certain lenses pull you into a character, some lenses can scare you, while others capture a breathtaking action sequence. Why are there so many choices, and how are focal lengths used in cinematic photography?
