Organic Hydroponics Impact on Future Food Systems
The words "organic" and "hydroponic" seem like an oxymoron. Organic hydroponic farms have already increased the organic food supply and encouraged organic matter recycling. The 2017 decision by the National Organic Standards Board firmly establishes that hydroponics and aquaponics can continue as organic methods. This reassurance to organic producers is predicted to spur investment in sophisticated organics and will yield proportional benefits for wildlands threatened by agriculture. Organic hydroponics is becoming a cornerstone of the food supply as demand rises and the environmental costs of traditional farming are being fully recognized.
