Sean Leon at Ironwood Hall
27 year-old Sean Leon is a recording artist, visual artist, producer, director and entrepreneur who has his sights set on not only pushing the envelope but completely stylizing it to his liking. As the founder of the IXXI Initiative, home to the likes of Daniel Caesar and DJ Jordan Fall, Sean Leon has established himself as a pillar in the Toronto music scene. Leon’s music is a unique sonic narrative that challenges widespread conceptions of life in the suburbs. His debut mixtape, Ninelevenne, the Tragedy (2013) and the follow up Narcissus, the Drowning of Ego (2014) helped Leon amass a cult-like following seemingly overnight. He further satiated his fans with his King of the Wild Things compilation (2014) and a collection of singles leading up to his highly anticipated BLACK SHEEP NIRVANA(2017) album. Most recently, he capped off 2017 with the highly acclaimed Can’t Come With Me This Time (CCWMTT). In February, Sean unleashed the first single off the forthcoming King & Sufferin called ’90 BPM’. This comes on the heels of the launch of ‘Maison Maui’, an innovative exhibit in which he outfitted his basement apartment and allowed his fans access to the space he considers most sacred.
