Sam Himself
After falling for rock 'n' roll, soul and the blues in his native Switzerland, Sam followed the music. It took him to Brooklyn, where he first made his mark with a distinct baritone and a modern take on Americana as Sam Himself with the release of "Songs in D" in 2016. The EP explores themes of loss and mourning, and was described by Impose Magazine as a collection of songs that "exudes new spins on classic sounds" and makes for "the perfect road trip soundtrack."
Following this somber debut, Sam has shifted the focus of his love for American music to a more energetic sound, channeling the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, and The Cars. In close collaboration with producer Daniel Schlett (Bob Dylan, DIIV, The War on Drugs), Sam has recorded his second EP “Nobody” and is currently working on his first full length album, both due out in 2018.
