Huxlee
Huxlee is the recording project of LA-born singer/songwriter Caitlin Notey. Personal and intricate lyrics inform a lush, eerie production style that has a reputation for capturing the attention of all those listening. Of her single “Big Breath In”, The Autumn Roses writes: “Daredevil melodies billow, dance and whirl, their aerial ballet performed with youth, confidence and a sense of possibility.”
In 2015, Huxlee released her EP “Teammate”, a first foray into a different style of production that veered away from live-tracked, full-band performances, and toward found object samples, vocal loops, and textural soundscapes. Following in the footsteps of “Teammate”, she released a 4-track EP, “Appetite” in April 2017. “Appetite” explores the voraciousness with which we can consume love and anger, as well as the role that womanhood plays in exploring these feelings.
You can find Huxlee sitting at the 24hr diner of whatever town she’s in, working on songs for her upcoming full-length album to be released in 2018.
